cradling_duckWelcome to Izzie’s Pond’s new online home! We’ve come a long way since we founded our nonprofit in 2011, and as we expand to a new 40-acre property in Liberty on which to house our sanctuary for waterfowl, farm animals, and wildlife, we’re expanding our online presence, too.

New to Izzie’s Pond? Read more about our history, mission, and vision here!

Here are five important ways you can use our new website:

1. Donate to help animals in need

We offer a number of different ways to help our animals! You can donate at the individual level, or sponsor a project through your business. You can make a one-time donation of any amount, or set up a monthly draft. You can even donate food and goods if you prefer! 100% of our proceeds go to help the animals.

2. Volunteer to help us out

We never lack for things to do! You can sign up to help us indoors or outdoors at our Liberty property, staff a booth at a farmer’s market or craft fair, make crafts for our fundraisers, or help educate people about animal care and animal life. You can also sign up to help transport animals to and from our rescue, the vet, or as needed.

3. Adopt a domestic duck, goose, or chicken

You’ve probably heard the phrase “Adopt, don’t shop.” Did you know that goes for birds, too? Every spring, hundreds of ducklings, goslings, and chicks are purchased from feed stores, only to be abandoned once they lose their fuzzy cuteness. We take these sweet birds in, nurse them back to health, and then adopt them out to forever homes.

Could a duck, goose, or chicken be next to join your family? Find out!

 4. Find out how to help an animal you find

Found an obviously injured animal? Not sure if the baby animal you found is in need of help? Have wild animals nested unwanted in your home? On this page, we’ll help you figure out if the animal you’ve encountered really does need help, or is only showing its natural behavior. We’ll also tell you how to catch a goose or duck for transport, what to tell us when you call, and when to leave animals alone.

Thank you for caring! Find out more about wild and domestic animals here!
